Kindergarten Class reports vandalism, Suspect located!

On Monday July 25, 2011 the kindergarten class reported an act of vandalism.  Cookie crumbs were found covering the floor.  The children walked carefully around the mess so they would not track the crumbs onto the brand new carpet.  A quick search of the room identified a likely suspect — one Gingerbread Man.  A search party was quickly formed.  Every teacher in school was questioned and every room visited.  With no Gingerbread Man in sight, a dejected search party returned to the Kindergarten Room where they were pleasantly surprised to find the impertinent suspect proudly sitting in the teacher’s chair!  He was given a good talking to and banished to the “Red Bag” for another year.  After finding the suspect, the kindergarten class enjoyed a snack of cookies and popsicles.

Welcome!

Welcome to the 2011-2012

Carden of Tucson school year!

I’m glad that you’ve taken the time to check out this blog, trust me, it will help you in the long run!

First things first, this blog is to help all of my students and their parents understand, double check and clarify any homework assignments, tests, projects or general questions they may have about any of the classes I teach. As most of you already know, I hand out weekly assignment sheets every Monday. I will post those on this blog on Mondays also. So if you loose your copy, just check the blog and it should be here!

If you have a gmail account you can also check out the weekly and monthly calender by clicking here. This way you can see if there is a test coming up, projects due, school performances, or other great things happening around Carden!

On the first day of school each student will receive two text books. The 6th graders will receive A Journey Across Time, 7th graders: Civics Today and the 8th graders will receive This American Journey. Every student will also receive a French and English dictionary. Each student is responsible for these two books for the entire year. If the books are lost, stolen or damaged it is the family’s responsibility to pay for the cost of the book.

I have a few classroom guidelines that I hope each of my students will agree to at the beginning of the year:

1. Come to class each day ready to learn something!

2. Take responsibility for your work.

This means putting your name on your assignments and turning your assignments in on time. You may e-mail your assignments to me at mrslivingood@gmail.com. I will always send a confirmation e-mail letting you know I’ve received your assignment. If you do not get a confirmation e-mail DO NOT assume I’ve gotten it. If you are absent you will be given one extra day to make up any missing assignments. If an assignment is late, you loose 1 point per day, simple as that.

3. Be yourself.

Don’t try to be anyone else. Each student brings a new perspective and idea to the class, we need YOU!

I am excited for this up coming school year, we have so much to explore and learn!
