A Letter from Mrs. Jeppson

It is hard to believe thirty-three years have gone by since Carden first opened it’s doors. In 1980, we were a small school with small classes who met in church buildings. Our mission was to provide quality, personalized education for the whole student. A Carden education goes beyond book knowledge and truly looks at the full development of a child, from kindergarten through the eighth grade. Although years later, our size has grown and our buildings are permanent, our mission has not changed. Carden of Tucson is dedicated to providing quality, personalized  education for the whole child.

I want to thank each family for entrusting Carden of Tucson with the development of your child. We do not take this task lightly nor do we believe that test scores are the only measure of your students progress or ability. We value your student and who he or she is becoming. It is a privilege for each one of us to watch your student grow in both character and knowledge. As Mae Carden says “character is more often a cause of real success than factual knowledge”. Carden is a gem in the city of Tucson. We have dedicated teachers, small classes, and ultimately a committed school community that realize the value of true learning and an education that goes beyond the school classroom.

In May, Carden's charter was renewed for twenty more years through the Arizona State Charter Board. This is a remarkable honor, and acknowledgment of the dedicated staff and students, and all of their hard work through out the year!

The State of Arizona has been recognized as one of the top ten States to provide school choice. Carden celebrates this recognition and celebrates your ability to choose the best education option for your family. Thank you for choosing Carden and for continuing to support quality, well-rounded educational opportunities, we've had a great 2012-2013 school year and we look forward to many, many more!

Sincerely,

Mrs Jeppson

Mae Carden thought of the week:

"Many children are being driven to get marks. Marks, not knowledge and understanding become all important. This is an utter disregard of true value."
