I am so excited to welcome everyone to my language arts classes. This quarter, all middle school classes will focus on close reading and essay writing.
Close reading will be done as an in class activity as we learn the how-to’s of this important process.
In addition, students have been assigned a class book to read on their own. Students will also need to read an additional book in order to complete the book report due at the end of the quarter.
Essays writing will include the following modules; Parts of Speech and their uses, Sentences, Paragraphs, how to use the six traits of writing, revision and editing.
As you can see, I have a busy quarter organized for your students.
