What I think about the book so far is that its sad in its own way and then again its reality for them, like waking up in the morning and going to the factory and sewing fabric on a machine, AND you had to rent your machine. They were poor people in tenaments, they mabye had to rent a bed to sleep at night. In the apartments they had wall to wall beds and if they wanted to do laundry, they had to hand wash it, which is horrible and they had to put it on a stove or hang it up on a line to dry it. Now, for the education the boys had a different thing they could do. The girls learned stuff from everywhere but school.

The boys could go to Highschool and move on if they wanted to. When the girls were 16, they had to get a job. SO, Wraping this all up I think that it was a messed up time in the 1900s, but to them it was reality.

i would choose Du Boise because, everything is not about money and food like you said in the disscussion we had today, that everything is not about money and food and Booker T Washington is all about food and money than again it is a school and its all about money and food where as Du Boise is all about education showing what they are made of, and telling them that they are more than just plain people getting pick such as the blacks back then so that is why i pick Du Boise

Same here, sorry

If I was there when President Lincoln had the desire to keep the union together, I would have been really happy. Actually I would try my best to try to help him. He wanted the North to win so that the states stay together and become a nation that gets stronger and stronger. Abraham Lincoln wanted everyone treated equally in the United States.
If a member of my family was on the opposite side I wouldn’t hurt them in anyway. If that ever happens I would do everything I can to stop the war. If I can’t do anything about it I will quit the military and visit him one last time before they got to war. I would try to do a lot with him before he goes to war. I would give up 9 lives if I had them than instead of killing my own family member or friend.

To post on the blogspot blog, it says I need to use an account to publish my post and it has a drop-down list to choose from. I have none of the accounts it shows... So this is my homework for today, Sorry!

The way I would have reacted to Presidents Lincoln’s desire to keep the Union together would be that I would be supportive of that idea. If one of my family members joined the opposite side that I was on and I was forced to fight against them in battle I would reluctant to, even though I was fighting for what I thought was right. I am not sure what some soldiers thought when they realized they were fighting family members or close friends, but most may have thought, “Is this really what is right?.”

In wars, it seems maybe easier to fight people you do not know. In reality, it is not. Even though if a person dies in battle and it does not affect you, it affects someone else in a huge way.
