Hi Carden Families! I am sorry for not using this great tool to stay in contact during 1st quarter. I plan on updating a bit more frequently.
This quarter we are starting new books. The sixth grade is reading Hatchet, the seventh grade is reading The Outsiders, and the eighth grade is reading Ender’s Game. We will be doing some reading in class but this quarter the students will need to do some reading at home. They have been given a reading guide so please ask them if they are current in their reading! Not only is it important to read at home, it is critical to their success this quarter that they do the assigned reading outside of class. We will be having quizzes, writing prompts and other assignments that they will be unable to complete if they do not do their reading. Hopefully their interest in the stories will lure them into reading without prompting!
