Quarter 2 Week 1: To highlight this week, we had fantastic attendance schoolwide, a nice 7/8 grade opening, Parent Meet & Greet, and the announcement of our Student of the Quarter awards.
|
Congratulations to Jaden, Kyra, Noah, Raymond and Camden for your outstanding work and efforts during the first quarter. It might just look like a piece of paper and a medal but it represents the appreciation of your teacher and Carden faculty for our leadership, efforts and hard work. This quarter moves at an amazing rate of speed. Please mark your calendar for our Fall Festival, the Veterans program, 2/3 grade Thanksgiving program and a Christmas program. I hope you will join us for each of these events.

I recently looked in the box of my childhood treasures and several memories came flooding back from the trinkets and keychains of vacations past. One really seemed to resonate with me, a pet rock. It was the best pet rock ever made. For some reason I picked the ugliest yellow paint, blue troll-like hair and googly eyes. Now this time of year we can get caught up taking in all that Tucson has to offer. Pumpkin Patches, UA and high school football games, zoo activities, social gatherings are great opportunities to spend time as a family. However, I challenge you to take a family walk and find your rock canvas, paint a face or design, add hair and eyes or don't. You can even make a spare and put it in the neighbors yard to brighten someone else's day. I am not saying that your rock will reappear from a box in 40ish years but it might. If it does that is fantastic, if it doesn't, well you just were able to spend 30 minutes with loved ones. Have a wonderful weekend.
