As we approach the anniversary of September 11th, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this day and share how we will be addressing it with our students.
For many of us, 9/11 was a day that changed the world and profoundly impacted our lives. It is a time for remembrance, reflection, and a renewed commitment to fostering resilience, empathy, and unity in our students. Although our students were not yet born when this tragedy occurred, we believe it’s important for them to understand its historical significance and the lessons it offers us all.
In class, we will engage in age-appropriate discussions about the day, focusing on themes of hope, community, and the importance of coming together during challenging times. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where students can ask questions, share their thoughts, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Weekly Tip for Supporting Students:
Each week, we will share a tip to help you support your child's learning journey.
Week 9 Tip: Reading Tip: Boost your child’s reading comprehension by asking questions as they read. Pause periodically to ask open-ended questions like, “What do you think will happen next?” or “Why do you think the character made that choice?” Encourage them to explain their thoughts and make connections to the story. This practice helps improve their understanding of the text and critical thinking skills.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
