2024 TAX CREDIT FORM

Can you believe we’ve already reached the end of the 1st quarter? As we close out the first quarter, I want to remind everyone that report cards will be mailed home next week. The reports are a great opportunity to reflect on what your student has achieved and identify areas where they can continue to grow. The 2nd quarter brings a fresh start for all students, and it’s a wonderful time to set new goals. Whether it’s improving study habits, focusing on a particular subject, or building confidence, each student has the chance to take charge of their learning.

Supporting your child at home can make a big difference in their academic success. Here are a few ways you can help:
  • Create a homework routine: Designate a quiet, distraction-free space and set a consistent time each day for homework.
  • Encourage reading: Regular reading at home strengthens literacy skills. Whether it’s books, magazines, or even online articles, fostering a love for reading will benefit them in all subjects.
  • Ask open-ended questions: Instead of asking “How was school today?”, try “What was the most interesting thing you learned?” or “Can you teach me something new you learned?”
  • Monitor progress: Check in on grades and assignments using our classroom tools and help your student stay organized. Setting small, achievable goals for each week can boost their confidence.
Important Dates:
  • Dollar 4 Duds: October 1st
  • 1/2 Day: October 2nd
  • Student of the Quarter Assembly: October 2nd
  • Fall Break: October 3rd-14th
Weekly Tip for Supporting Students:
Each week, we will share a tip to help you support your child's learning journey.

Week 12 Tip: The Power of Read-Alouds Reading aloud to your child, even as they grow older, offers countless benefits. It helps expand their vocabulary, improve listening skills, and exposes them to more complex sentence structures. Read-alouds also foster a love for stories and can spark rich conversations. Choose books slightly above your child's independent reading level to introduce new words and ideas and enjoy the bonding time as you explore stories together.

I am grateful for your ongoing support, and I look forward to a productive and exciting 2nd quarter!

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards,
Beth Anderson- Carden Director
