Dear Carden Parents,

Carden of Tucson has added Bark for Schools to help us monitor school-issued accounts for signs of digital dangers. When potential issues like cyberbullying, suicidal ideation, and threats of violence arise, Bark sends us a notification. Parents and guardians can benefit from receiving these alerts, as well.

Get Alerts With the Free Parent Portal

Kids use their school-issued accounts both at school and at home, and families are often in a better position to respond to urgent alerts after hours, on weekends, and during breaks. These are times when administration may not be available in the event of an emergency. In the coming days, you will receive an invitation to create your free account for the Bark for Schools Parent Portal. As soon as you opt in, you’ll start receiving after-hours alerts when Bark detects potentially time-sensitive issues associated with the Carden email.

Monitor Texts, Social Media, and More

Bark for Schools is free for both our school and for you. For even greater coverage, you can also sign up for Bark for Families, which monitors texts, chat, email, YouTube, and 30+ social media platforms for potential safety concerns. Carden of Tucson has secured a 20% discount for Bark for Families — you’ll only have to pay $11.20 per month to cover an unlimited number of accounts, devices, and children.

If you have any questions, please contact us by calling the office at 520.293.6661 or by email at Thank you for your support as we strive to help keep our students safe both online and in real life.

Ms. Nichols

Welcome Carden Families and Friends,

I would like to share one of my favorite recipes, Stone Soup.

Grades 2 and 3 are currently rehearsing for the story Stone Soup. Soon you will be invited to view our version of the story, Stone Soup, on Carden of Tucson Facebook page.

The Story of Stone Soup

One day a man went to a village and all the people were hiding. There was a farmer that came and the man asked the farmer why everyone was hiding. The farmer said that all the people of the village were hungry and the children were weak.

The man went to the lake and filled a pot with water. He added a stone to the pot full of water and brought it to the village. He put it on a fire to cook.

The farmer asked him what he was making. The man told him it was Stone Soup. The farmer said that he had never heard of Stone Soup and asked if he could have some. The man said "of course, but it would taste so much better if I only had a potato to add, so the farmer gave him a potato.

Along came another villager and he asked the man what he was making. The man said it was Stone Soup. The villager said that he had never heard of Stone Soup and asked if he could have some. The man said of course, but it would taste so much better if I only had some beans to add. The villager came back with a handful of beans and added it to the soup.

A woman came along and asked what the man was making. He said he was making Stone Soup. The woman asked if she could have some. The man said of course, but it would taste so much better if I only had an onion, so she added her onion to the soup.

All the people in the village started to smell the stone soup and came to see what the man was cooking. They all added their vegetables to the soup. After a while, the soup pot was filled with many wonderful flavors and the entire village had a feast.

Everybody thanked the stranger and he was there for many days to feed them the Stone Soup.
