MATH:
In math we learned how to divide a solid in half as well as count, add, and graph the apple seeds.
SCIENCE:
Learning about different types of apples while using descriptive words to describe their taste, size, and color was only the start of our science fun with apples. The students were also able to learn about the life cycle of an apple tree and make a small book about it!
COOKING
On Thursday we had the opportunity to cook apple crisps in a crock-pot as a tart treat! Each student had a chance to help chop or measure an ingredient.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
The students listened to the story of Johnny Appleseed and learned how he played a big part in helping pioneers who were traveling west.
ART:
Today, we got the chance to explore “still life” art using apples as our muse. Through still life painting, the students were able to be introduced to “perspective” in artworks.
Apple week was so much fun! The pictures below show the students having fun with apples, peanut butter, and marshmallows to make mouths, as well as them having fun with apple art.
