Students had so much fun in science today! We used plastic to build hologram projectors for our smartphones, and took out a lens from a laser pointer to make a macro magnifier. Both activities were hits, and students left class with the materials to use at home. I encourage parents to talk about the activities with the children and ask to see both in action. (The laser pointers were taken apart and weren’t used as lasers. Students were instructed to never play with laser pointers and that doing so could be dangerous. Students were also told to ask parents before finding hologram videos online at home so that parents can screen content.)
