8th grader life through pictures parent project due

During our graduation ceremony we commemorate each graduate through pictures and dialogue provided by the students’  parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jeppson  take the pictures and accompanying stories and blend them together. This “show” is used during graduation and a keepsake disc is given to each student containing the slide shows for all the students.

This is due Friday April 20, 2012. If you need help I have all of the discs beginning with the 2005 graduating class for you to look at to get ideas. This project takes time, please get them in on time to Mrs. Jeppson.

TenMarks for use by Saxon course 3 students

In preparation for AIMS testing, course 3 students will be using TenMarks, an online math program. Students may access the program at school and at home. The system offers helpful hints for every problem and teaching videos for each topic.

Writing Prompt 3 due Monday 4/9

You are a student at a large middle school where a contest is being held  by the PTO to suggest a new lunch consisting of a side dish. main course and desert. Propose a nutritionally balanced meal supporting each items value.

Items needed: RAFTS, web or outline and five paragraph first draft.

Proper naming conventions must be followed for google doc submission to chiltonatschool@gmail.com

Honeywell Fiesta Bowl Aerospace Challenge

Three teams of students participated in the Aerospace Challenge on Tuesday December 6th.  As always I am so proud of our Carden students; their behavior and dedication is of the highest level. I love my job.   What a wonderful day! Our school was well represented, the judges were attentive, listened to our students explain their projects and entered into open learning discussions with each team. Our teams did not win this year but we learned so much about living in space that this whole project has been a terrific success.

Will we do this again next year, OH YES!

Our thanks to Mr. Keeland and Mr. Cooper who took  time to assist our teams with their projects.
